I didn’t set out to write historical fiction.
I leaned toward science fiction and fantasy—until my book club read The Lost Girls of Paris and introduced me to the women of SOE Section F. That led me to Vera Atkins, Virginia Hall, Pearl Witherington, and dozens of others whose courage reshaped how I understood resistance, espionage, and war.
I was born in the Philippines and moved to southwest Louisiana as a teenager—a place where French history still echoes in culture, names, and memory. That connection sparked a lasting interest in France. I’ve visited many times, and in 2022 I walked the beaches and towns of Normandy, standing at sites where history still feels close enough to touch.
The Weight of Silence is my debut novel. It’s the first in the Jane Doe Program series.
